From its workshop in the heart of the Périgord Noir, Maison Tricard carries on the artisan craft of the handmade lampshade. A specialist in made-to-measure fabric and natural parchment lampshades, the workshop creates unique pieces for private individuals, interior designers, upholsterers, antique dealers and architects.

The only workshop in France to master animal-parchment lampshades (goat, kid, vellum and ostrich), Maison Tricard offers a noble, eco-responsible and timeless alternative to traditional materials.

Every piece is hand-sewn, laminated, pleated or "juponné" (flounced), following the ancestral techniques of the artisan lampshade maker.

With more than 1,000 projects completed for hotels, château-hotels, historic monuments, private estates and individual clients, the workshop meets the most demanding projects within 5 to 6 weeks. Consultations by appointment, quotes online or by video call.

Amid globalisation and standardisation, we offer a wide choice of customisable fabric lampshades — in shape, colour and finish. 

Whether replacing a pig-bladder shade or creating an original design, parchment is THE eco-responsible material, made from recycled animal hides.

Repairing and restoring lampshades is part of our craftsmanship. We bring your damaged, faded, or time-worn lampshades back to life, staying as true as possible to their original spirit. Two approaches are possible: we can work directly from the old frame, restoring it or reusing it as a base for a new covering, or from photographs you send us, in order to faithfully reproduce a lampshade that has been lost or is too damaged to be kept. In every case, our goal is to stay as close as possible to the original finishes: fabrics, trims, fringes, colours, and materials. When the exact original elements are no longer available, we select very similar materials in texture and colour, for a harmonious result true to the piece's original spirit.

Deux approches sont possibles : nous pouvons travailler directement à partir de l’ancienne carcasse, en la restaurant ou en la réutilisant comme base pour un nouvel habillage, ou bien à partir de photographies que vous nous transmettez, afin de reproduire fidèlement un abat-jour disparu ou trop dégradé pour être conservé.

Dans tous les cas, notre objectif est de retrouver au plus près les finitions d’origine : tissus, galons, franges, teintes et matières. Lorsque les éléments exacts ne sont plus disponibles, nous sélectionnons des matières très similaires en texture et en couleur, pour un résultat harmonieux et fidèle à l’esprit initial de la pièce.
